SUMMARY:

As a key member of an integrated Legal Talent Team, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Specialist will play a central role in implementing and facilitating the execution of diversity and
inclusion strategies for our attorneys and business professional groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position involves working closely with the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
to effectuate the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan by:
• Working with affinity group leaders, the Inclusion Advisory Committee (“IAC”) and its
subcommittees to execute inclusion-related activities including regular meeting planning and
organizing internal and external events;
• Assisting with the development and delivery of inclusion-related content and programming
for all firm stakeholders;
• Maintaining and improving the database of firm diversity information and providing
analytical reports and statistics regarding demographic information, as needed;
• Facilitating preparation and submitting firm sponsorships, annual industry and client surveys,
client Requests for Proposals, and certifications including the Human Rights Campaign
Corporate Equality Index;
• Maintaining administrative compliance with Mansfield Rule including required reporting,
attending discussion forums, and facilitating attorney involvement with Mansfield programs
such as Client Forums;
• Organizing and facilitating attorney involvement with career development organizations such
as LCLD and by building and maintaining relationships with attorneys from
underrepresented groups;
• Remaining informed of trends in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space, and sharing
relevant information as appropriate;
• As needed, planning and attending relevant law student recruiting events;
• Work on special department or firm projects as needed.

Project-Lead Responsibilities:
• Development and execution of an effective method for firmwide distribution of inclusionrelated content including cultural month resources;
• Build out inclusion strategies for professional staff in collaboration with and under the
advisement of the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Senior Director of
Human Resources;
• Develop and/or improve other inclusion strategies as needed to advance diversity, equity, and
inclusion at Goulston & Storrs.

Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years of experience supporting diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at an
organization; law firm, law school or professional services firm experience a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge of social justice and workplace inclusion concepts and
methodologies
• Keen attention to detail, action-oriented, excellent organization skills and demonstrated
ability to move forward multiple projects simultaneously
• Public speaking experience or strong interest in developing public speaking skills
• Strong ownership drive, proactive and deadline driven
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Approachable and demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate and
collaborate effectively across all functions and levels
